Voices of the Diaspora…Sacred Fire

A musical retrospective and workshop choir conducted by African-American composer, conductor and lecturer Robert L. Morris and performed by the Nathaniel Dett Chorale.

On Tuesday, February 16th, the celebrations continue with Dr. Morris delivering a public lecture prior to a reception featuring local performers and an evening concert, Voices of the Diaspora…Sacred Fire which will feature the Nathaniel Dett Chorale. The event, which will be held in York University’s Sandra Faire and Ivan Fecan Theatre, has been organized by the Nathaniel Dett Chorale, Artist in Residence at the Harriet Tubman Institute, York University, in partnership with the Toronto Black History Council—a collective of several west-end not-for-profit organizations—as a part of Toronto’s Black History Month celebrations. The night promises to be informative, entertaining and thought-provoking.
