For 15 years The Nathaniel Dett Chorale has been proud to connect with its audience through Afrocentric choral music. This program features audience selected favourites. Works will include Listen to the Lambs, Done Paid My Vow, O Holy Lord, Dust and Ashes, Don’t Be Weary Traveler, and Go Not Far From Me by R. Nathaniel Dett; interpolated with selections from some of his piano suites – In the Bottoms, Enchantment, Cinnamon Grove, and Eight Bible Vignettes. Guest artist Clipper Erickson whose recent doctoral thesis was on the piano works of R. Nathaniel Dett will perform these. Other choral works will include selections from Images, Shadows and Dreams; Missa Afro-Brasiliera; Seis Canciones; as well as composers Sydney Guillaume, Greg Jasperse, Mary Lou Williams and Adolphus Hailstork.
